  • Drive the value of a keyframe with another keyframe?

Posted by David Cabestany on July 30, 2019 at 3:56 pm

I have a very simple 4 keyframe animation happening: 0%->x value->xvalue->0% it happens on scale.
As you can see, I’m holding the value in between the second and third keyframes for a while and then goes back to 0, nothing fancy.

The problem is that I have to do it over 50 times and each time the value will be different.

Is there a way to define the third keyframe as the same as the second using an expression? The second value will be adjusted on the comp panel, so it’s easier to adjust pulling it rather than entering a numeric value.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

Would hold keyframes work instead of using an expression?
It would therefore eliminate the need for the 3rd keyframe

Yes, that’s ultimately the behavior I need, but it happens at different times in each comp, I’m trying to avoid having to dive in each of them and instead have a slider controlling the value for both.

I guess a hold keyframe is as good as it will get.

    Thanks.
