  “Drifting” audio

  I’ve noticed many times (most times?) when I’ve been working on a project, save it and then come back to it later, all the audio’s out of sync with picture. Then, it seems like after a few minutes of just having the project open and playing clips they’ll come back into sync with each other.

  Is this normal/typical? If so, is there a way to ensure that when I open a project that audio will ALWAYS be in sync with picture, because if I start making adjustments to “fix” sync that’s not really out of sync I fear I’ll just be chasing my tail.
