Is there an easy way to draw on video? For example, what if I want to pause the video using a velocity envelope and then place an arrow pointing at something, or add some text next to the label….

What would be the easiest way to do that? I don’t really want to capture a frame improt it into a paint tool and then bring it back… seems like there should be a better way!

Add a new video track over top of the video track and insert a text event over top of your video at the appropriate point.
Make sure to use the “Default Text” preset so that the background is transparent.
For arrows, try the Wingdings font as I’m pretty sure it has some arrows in it.
To add text to this, add another video track over top of the “arrow” track and place your text as desired.

If you really want to “draw” on your video in Vegas you will need a plug-in like Boris FX or Boris RED. Vegas alone does not have the capability.

You can do some simple things with Generated Media and Masks but it’s not the same as being able to actually paint on the video.

I personally have my secret formula of painting,
and writing on videos in vegas with the help of
    the “Prodad Heroglyph” plugin.
I have this application doing things amazingly and
easily that the developers didn’t even designed it for.
