  • DPX realtime proxy?

Does a DPX file play with the realtime proxy feature in the 8.2b2 lite version.

I have tried it but seem to get the same frame rate – 14 fps. I have the config proxy checked and also have real time proxy checked in the color window.

    Any Help?

    Thanks

do you have a fast enough HDD to play DPXs realtime?

No my raid is not fast enough, I’m only getting about 14,15 fps. Or the drive is about 140 MBs. Not fast enough by the Blackmagic speed chart. That is why I want to run it in realtime Proxy mode. Thanks

I’m not telling this for sure, but the way I understand it, the “realtime proxies” mode helps you, when you don’t have the processing power (GPU, CPU) to grade full-resolution DPX sequences. But this needs the same HDD bandwidth reading the files (after reading it resizes it, so it’s faster to grade).

You’ll need to create real proxies, or create a software RAID:)
    do you grade 2K material?

thanks for getting back to me Lalo

Yes I grade 2K, but not at home, which is what I was trying to do. So even with realtime proxy on it still is an HDD issue if I understand what you are saying. Thanks
