Downloading public domaine files for public use
Not sure if this is the correct forum for my question.
I’m producing a music video using my son’s music. My only current source is archive.org. While they have a wealth of older videos from which to choose I have also found other sites with public domain offerings, youtube being one of many. I searched online and found several software choices but would appreciate some guidance as to one specifically tailored for Macs. I don’t need the rippers/burners/etc. And I am not a bootlegger. Just a proud papa wanting to help his, very creative, son get a nod from the Grammy folks.

This is a good forum for things of a legal or business nature.My two cents:
Anything in the public domain is free to use however you want, even for commercial use. You just need to make sure it is in the public domain before using =)I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t really give you legal advice. Just my opinion.

Thanks very much for your reply. I’m more interested in ‘how’ to find the proper software for downloading, not about the legal aspect of public domain. Already understand that part.

As in my original post, I would like to make use of the public domain clips from youtube and other sites in the production of a music video. I have no interest in pirating movies or financial gain. I am just trying to help my gifted son who produces music and would like him to fulfill his goals in the music field. Thus far I have made use of clips from archive.org, which is mostly public domain but realize the abundance of material out there with other sites.
If there is any way Safari has that capability I am not aware of it. And, if you can help in this vein I would greatly appreciate some tips.
