What is the best way to downcovert DVC Pro HD to DV NTSC? And what frame size should I make it if I want it letterboxed? My HD sequence settings are as follows: 1280×1080 [HD (1280×1080) 16:9 ] and the capture frame size is 1920×1080. All the footage was captured via Kona 2 thru a Panasonica AJ-HD1200a VTR using the DVC Pro HD codec (1080i 29.97) as you may have assumed. When I export short clips to post on a server for client approval, the frame size that I found works is 480×270 — to maintain the current apsect ratio. Any ideas to lead me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance,

    Joe Linton

Use the real time down convert on the Kona 2. open your control panel, set your preferences (letterbox, anamorphic, crop, or otherwise) and record in real time to tape.
