    Hi All,

I have an HDV 1080 50i sequence (upper field first) in FCP 5.1 that I need to convert to dv pal widescreen /anamorphic 25i (lower field first), can anyone tell me the best way to do this? My primary concern is interlacing issues. Is it best to export direct from timeline to dv format, via compressor, or to simply drop my HDV sequence into a Dv Pal timeline? Or Do I need to deinterlace then export?

    Many thanks, James

Do you need to keep working on the footage at DV quality? If you’ve finished working on it, I would recommend exporting your sequence as a QuickTime movie using the DV compression settings. This will automatically reset the field ordering as well. Don’t use the deinterlace.
