There’s only one other post about this anomaly that I can find, and it doesn’t appear to have been resolved.

Something changed in my Project Media window. When I would double-click on a file, it would be placed in the track at my cursor location. (There is also an option to have the double-clicked file appear in the Trimmer, but I prefer the former action.)

This was working fine until this morning. Now when a file is double-clicked, it opens the file name so it can be renamed. Used to be, if you SLOW double clicked the file (or right-clicked and selected rename), it could be renamed, but now it happens if you fast double-click it.

According to a post by Eric Chard, if you double-click on fields other than File Name, Comment, or Numeric Indicator, it will behave as it should. Still, it’s frustrating that double-clicking on the file name won’t put it in the Trimmer or Track.

I’m curious if anyone has experienced this and has a fix.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Sorry I can’t reproduce this in Vegas Pro 12.0 build 394. I’ve change Explorer view to Details, List, and Thumbnails and in all three when I double-click the media is placed on the timeline at the cursor position.

I cannot reproduce this in SVP 12 either, unless I set my mouse settings to the fastest double click speed and then it sees my double click as to “slow” clicks to perform a rename. Double check you mouse settings in the Control Panel of Windows to make sure the slider did not get bumped up for some reason.
