    hi

    i am using FCP with g5 (3 numbers) some with sata solution some with scsi and firewire. what tools should i use to maintain my storage? securing them from chrashing, overlaping. rebuiling? defragmenting? or what are the best things to do?

    You should never defrag media drives. In fact the drives rely on being fragmented to perform reliabaly for video and audio.

    Start with a drive that has been reformatted by the mac os and reformat it every couple of years.
