I’m having problems with Motion in Tiger.

A 3-minute project that took 40 minutes to render out in Panther is now taking me 4 hours. It’s taking several seconds per frame to render. This is true with Compressor or Motion.

I don’t know what the problem is.

Anyone else upgrade to Tiger who is not having problems?

    No problem here
    How did you upgrade?
Not the dreaded Archive and install???
I did that and had to reinstall Motion.

Yeah, I shouldn’t have posted such a provocative title, I guess.

    I did the Upgrade install.

Immediately, my sound was hosed because Tiger changed my Audio MIDI Setup audio out setting to 33Khz. I had to research this at Apple and then found the fix.

For whatever reason, exporting my existing project didn’t work from Motion or from Compressor.

Today, I trashed the preferences of Motion, Compressor, Batch and it seems to be working now, at least using Compressor. I haven’t tried Exporting out of Motion, but I prefer Compressor.

    Thanks.

[scot walker] “I did the Upgrade install. “

Whenever making a complete OS upgrade, you should always at least do the Archive and Install, though the Erase and Install is really the best way to do a proper upgrade. Just upgrading on top of the old OS is generally asking for problems.

Yeah, delete all your preferences dealing with all of these applications you are using.

I had issues, but they went away after I deleted the preferences to Compressor and Motion.
