May 6, 2011 at 9:11 pmNo, it does not work in 9 or 10 and we’re working on a new version which hasn’t been completed yet.

I’ve found your Notepad awfully useful in consolidating my thoughts and planning my next series of edits from further ideas.

May 9, 2011 at 12:55 pmJohn, a user in an old thread on the Sony Vegas forum suggested the following as a workaround.
I dragged the dll from its installed-to location [C:\Program Files (x86)\VASST\Freeware] into the place where all other extensions are [C:\Users\\Documents\Vegas Application Extensions].
Now it appears in all 32-bit versions of Vegas but not 64 bit.
I tried it and it works but am I opening myself up to any problems by doing this?
Thanks. -

Yes potentially. Notepad was written when XP was the most current Windows OS. It does not adhere to the new security model of Vista/Windows 7 and therefore has to be rewritten to work properly in those OS’s and in a 64-bit environment.
So we (VASST) are not responsible for how it might behave on Vista/Windows 7 or newer versions of Vegas than 8.0b. This is one of the reasons why we are writing a new version. The other is to add more functionality that people had asked for. The new version will not be free but it will be reasonably priced.

I’m still on 32-bit XP (Windows 7 is sitting in the box patiently waiting) so I’m ok for now. -
