Hi, everyone. My Sony FXW-Z150 is in the shop for repair. The main issue is the focus ring, but they said the the lens needs replacing as well. Here is the estimate—before taking off a couple small things ( I can live with a crack here, missing piece there)—the cost was nearly HALF that of the new camera. Does this look acceptable? (See attached photo). This is from THE authorized shop in Teaneck. This price could be perfectly OK, but I figured it can’t hurt to ask around.

Thanks so much for your time.

So they are offering $300 off. That is nice. It’s hard to say if that is a reasonable price unless you check other shops. I have used Macie Video in the past and was very happy with the result. https://www.macievideo.com Good luck

I would never go anywhere for a job like this other than Sony themselves. Of course, living in the UK virtually any place is within sensible driving distance so we don’t face your problems. What worrisome more is why you need a new lens. This camera has not been on the street for very long, are you sure that it isn’t covered under the warrantee?
