Does Sony XDCAM Browser plugin add MXF export to FCP7?
I’ve read things which suggest that MXF export can be added to FCP7 for free by installing the Sony XDCAM Browser plugin. Is this correct? I already have the XDCAM codecs, it’s just the ability to export to an MXF wrapper that I need, and I’m having trouble downloading the apps from the Sony site – they keep failing with “size mismatch” errors.

Yes, the Sony XD transfer will allow you to export to an MXF file. But it’s limited to working with the XD codec.

Great, thanks! As it happens, XDCAM is exactly what I need to export as MXF. I’ve been getting round it by exporting the video from FCP and then importing it into PPro and doing the final MXF export from there.
EDIT – OK, I’ve installed XDCAM Browser, but it appears to be a standalone app. I don’t have any new export options within FCP7 itself. What have I done wrong?
