Does Magic Bullet Looks 1.4 work in Sony Vegas 10c?
Posted by Petr Berger on January 24, 2011 at 6:38 pmI just installed Sony Vegas 10c and it seems my favorite plugin Magic Bullet Looks 1.4 doesnt work in it. I know that newest version of MBL is for Sony Vegas 8 (according to Red Giant site), but maybe there is somebody who use MBL in Sony Vegas 10c without a problem. Maybe somebody could help me… MBL just crashes when image is loading.

MBL only withs with 32-bit versions of Vegas Pro. If you don’t see it listed in your plug-ins, I assume you are using the 64-bit version of Vegas. You need to install the 32-bit if you want to use MBL.

January 24, 2011 at 6:55 pmI’m using 32bit version of Vegas (my OS is 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate) and I see it in my plugins… When I click on Magic Bullet in my plugin list, the application opens and suddenly crashes during loading the video image. (Magic Bullet Mojo works ok.)

January 24, 2011 at 6:59 pmMake sure that you have the latest version of MBL. There was an update in December to MBL 1.4.2.

January 24, 2011 at 7:38 pmReally? I just downloaded it today trial from Red Giant site and its only 1.4.1 version.
1.4.2 update is probably only for MAC users:

It just doesnt work with any video in my installation of Vegas 10c. What would you do? -

You’re right, my mistake. 1.4.1 is the latest Windows version. (sorry)

January 25, 2011 at 2:20 amI have a folder called:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Magic Bullet Looks Vegas
and in it is a file called LooksDX.dll. I assume this is the plug-in. Do you have this file on your system?
Also see if you have Magic Looks LooksBuilder on your system. That is also part of the installation.

January 25, 2011 at 10:01 pmI tried to open Magic Bullet in Adobe Premiere, just for curiosity if it works. And it does not work too! “OpenGL error while attempting to open frame” when loading image. Does anybody know what should I do? Magic Bullet was allways working on my system, but recently I installed Windows 7…

Sounds like a display driver problem. I would make sure that you have the latest display drivers for your card from the manufacturer and not just the drivers that come with Windows 7.
