Does it matter how an external drive sits?
Hi,
Is there any information on whether it is better to have an external drive lying flat or standing up on its side?

Just follow the manufacturer’s instructions. One of the things they’ll tell you is the recommended way to set up your drive.

hmmm, interesting. Never heard that one, though I guess it could be true. In my case, I do switch orientation of a drive sometimes depending on where I’m setting it up. Of course, never with the drive turned on!
