    Does it make sense to shoot in 60i if i dont know my final output format?

    I’m doing some shooting for someone who doesnt know what frame rate he wants the final piece in. My logic then is to shoot in 1080 60i so i can easily change to either one? Does that logic make sense?

    I’d suggest 1080/24p if you aren’t sure what you’re output format will be- it’s easily converted to just about anything. 60i works pretty much best as only 60i- converting it to other formats is highly labor intensive and generally results in quality loss in doing so.

    I agree. The 24p footage can easily be converted to just about any standard framerate via the optically familiar 3:2 pulldown. A lot of folks call a 24p master the “univeral master” for just that reason.
