No matter how hard I try, I can’t get people to be quiet when shooting GVs! Am I the only one who goes through this??

I’m paying for it now with time, I desperately need some decent lenght clips (like about 2 miniutes or so) of just general “quiet” ambient to go with some pool and countryside shots.

Don’t really need birdsong in it or anything too obvious as it’s for B-Roll.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex.

    1) What is a “GV”

    2) Why can’t you go to the countryside and roll a few minutes of tape – without crew or talent? Just a pair of mics.

    3) “general ambient sound” doesn’t really exist. It’s either a bird, or water. or wind, or an air conditioner, or a lawn mower, or siren, or crickets, or hip hop, well, you get the point.

Though not free, these are very reasonable as you can purchase per FX: audiosparx.com, sounddogs.com and soundrangers.com. Also, the Sound Ideas library (sound-ideas.com) is very comprehensive, but more expensive.
