As a MoGraph designer I constantly add and remove fonts with the AMP Font Viewer…do I have to restart AE everytime? I’m using XP here…I remember on a Mac with AE7 I didn’t have to restart AE.

I didn’t think you had to, but I tried installing a new font the other day with it open and couldn’t get it to show up in AE. I know Illustrator can load them in by hiding and showing the characters palette, but I don’ think AE does that. That or I did something wrong.

I should have mentioned I’m on an XP machine as well

I use Extensis Suitcase with AE7.0.1 on XP and if I activate a font it pops right up in AE. Even if I de-activate it AE still lets me use it but puts a star next to it in character palette. If I change it to another font though, then try to change back, it’s no longer in the list. Which is fair enough!

    Hope that helps.
