Do I need to uninstall FCP 5.0 before installing the cross grade on a G5?
I have FCP 5.0 installed on my dual 2.7 G5. I recently purchased a macbook pro so I got the cross grade kit. I want to install the updated 5.1 onto my G5 now, will it just install over it? or do I need to uninstall something first?

Just install over your old version. No need to uninstall anything.

When I tried to install ‘over the top’ it produced strange problems in Compressor. Spent an afternoon doing complete System Disk wipe, then reinstalled everything from scratch. Time well spent – system rock solid now. However used new Hard drive for reinstall just in case I forgot anything!
