    All I believe I asked before but I am still not sure. My camcorder record 4k in
    Compression: MPEG-4 AVC/H.264
    File Format: MP4
    Do I still need to transcode?

    OS Windows 10 CPU AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.70 GHz
    Memory 32 gb
    Hard drives C: SSD OS and Programs
    F: 2 TB Documents and other programs
    G: Drobo 6TB photos and videos
    H: SSD 500 gb Cache drive
    M: 2TB SSD Media drive
    I: 1TB SSD Media drive 2

    My opinion is that Long-GOP H.264 files are intended for final delivery, not for post. For post, I think you’re better off converting them to a less-compressed file format like DNxHD or DNxHR. Pick a codec that will preserve everything in the camera format; if it’s 8-bit HD, go with that.
