I’m just about to export a movie/sequence from FCP timeline as ProRes 422. The question is: Do I need to change the sequence settings to ProRes, rendedr it and then export it or during the “export as quicktime conversion ” action, it will be rendered at the end ?

If you go to export by QT Conversion, the sequence codec it doesn’t matter.
However QT Conversion is a very little recommendable path.

Why is that ? What is the difference in the end ? If I change the sequence settings and render it before exporting will make differences ?

    Hi Fredy,
I don’t know much how it works QT Conversion, but you have no much control in this process.
When you export with QT, there is ALWAYS re-compression. Even if you export with the very setting of your movie.
In FC there is re-compression when needed. If you export with the same setting of your clip you don’t need to re-compress.
I use QT Conversion only for fast exporting, no for full quality.
