  • Do I need to keyframe the master fade in the audio mixer?

I just discovered the master fade in the audio mixer. This is awesome. This should make getting sound right much easier.

Question: do i need to do keyframes for the master fade? If I make a change in it, does it automatically apply it to the clips in some way that is visible? Im not quite sure how to use this powerful tool

When set to automate, the mixer adds keyframes based on your fader moves. So you can edit those keyframes later or delete or overwrite.

The master fader in FCP does not have a writable track to record keyframes on. You’ll have to do it on the individual track level. Or mix in another app (like soundtrack pro).
