Do I add ‘search points’ to DVD-R in Vegas or DVDA?
I have a simple two hour multi-cam talk that I need to burn to DVD-R. There are no special ‘chapter breaks’ or anything, but I want the viewer to be able to ‘fast forward’ by ten or fifteen minute segments if he wants to watch part, and then come back later.
Do I add any kind of markers in Vegas at the time I render to MPEG-2, or do I do that later, in DVDA?

If you haven’t rendered your project yet, add them in Vegas and make sure the “save project markers in media file” option is checked.
If you’ve already rendered it, open up DVDA, double-click the file to load it into the timeline and, just like in Vegas, hit the “M” key at the desired locations to add markers.
Remember to click the “Save Markers” icon as well as saving the project so they’ll be there the next time you open it. -

Also, you know you can add up to 100 chapter markers and name your markers throughout your editing process indicating where you are within your DVD. After the 100th chapter marker, Vegas stops numbering them. That’s a lot of markers and I have gone beyond 100.

I have not rendered it yet. I have maybe about a bazillion markers from VASST InfinityCAM (as it creates a marker wherever one changes cams). Do I delete all those first, and then add the ones I want?
And is there an easy way to delete all the existing markers?

Thanks. Do I need any special kind of markers for chapter markers? Or just a simple ‘m’ marker?

I can’t answer your InfinityCAM question as I use Excalibur.
To delete all your markers quickly, click on the first one, shift+click on the last one to select all of them and press Delete.

InfinitiCAM has a function to take care of this. Just press the Remove CAMS button to remove all of the camera markers. Note, it will not remove any other markers, just the camera markers. If you press Restore CAMS it will restore the markers that were previously removed.
