DNxHD render and 32-bit float
I have been rendering my HDV sourced projects to the HD codec DNxHD-145/8-bit, with Vegas9c-64bit on an i7. When I try to render with the Project Setting at “32-bit floating point”, the render will nearly always (eventually) crash. Setting the Project Setting to 8-bit, and the render always goes smoothly (and faster).
From the little that I have read about rendering “32-bit float” versus 8-bit, it sounds like different codecs use project settings differently. Does anyone happen to know if the DNxHD-145/8-bit codec even makes any use of a “32-bit floating point” setting? Or, am I just as well off, quality-wise, with the 8-bit Project Setting (with this particular DNxHD codec)?
Sorry, there were no replies found.
