Does anyone know of a way to create a DNA strand made up of videos? I imagine that it would be similar to a video wall, except the videos would need to revolve around the strand, their position and rotation changing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are the individual videos flat of curved?

Yes, good question. If they can be curved, you can make a comp made up of videos, then drag iti into another comp and apply CC Cylinder to make a cylinder. If you’ve made angled lines of videos in the sub-comp, you get a helix.

For more info, Google “what the helix going on”, and “Maffitt”.

I’ve used CC Ball action in the past to create DNA molecules. And I’ve had different colours for each ball by setting up a grid from photoshop and then matching the grid size to the Ball Action parameters. You might be able to achieve the same with videos in a grid pre-comp

All great suggestions gang. However, I decided to go the more difficult route. Made a spiraling path for one videos position and continuously copied onto other layers. Since all the videos will be different in the helix, it seemed like the simplest solution. Thanks for all your suggestions!
