    Hi,
I have a declink extreme that we use with PP2 primarily using SDI I/O.
I’m trying for the first time to record a scratch track directly into my pc, and cannot get it to work. I tried plugging a mic using an XLR directly into the Extreme Analog audio input cable.
Premiere doesn’t seem to recognize this. I first tried to just a capture with video turned off, and there was no sound (I changed my decklink setting from SDI to Analog). Then I tried recording in the audio mixer of PP with the direct sound input. When I click a track mic icon to set it up for recording, it says “Your current audio harware selection doesn’t have audio inputs” It directs me to the audio hardware section of the preferences, but I see nothing there to change. (Unless it means to turn off the decklink, and use the sound card (my sound card doesn’t seem to work either)..

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Your Mic probably needs to be amplified. I go through my mixer which has a mic pre-amp when I do this.

    Hi,
I’ve tried using a mixer, and I can hear the mic via the analog outputs going to my speakers.
However, within premiere, I’m getting nothing. I’ve changed the input in the decklink control panel from SDI to Analog, but still nothing is being recorded. The capture settings in premiere are set to Decklink capture…..
