  • DL Extreme not outputting on print to video with HDV sequence

So I’ve captured some HDV footage through firewire and edited in HDV with the decklink doing downconversion for monitoring. I am outputing to a real-time DVD burner for client approvals. Using ‘Print to Video’ I’ve done this with no problems several times. However, the last time I tried this, after selecting ‘print to video’ a ‘conforming HDV video’ dialogue comes up and goes through its process. Then when that finishes the conforming HDV video dialogue comes up a second time. This is normal and happened in the past. But, now, after the first conform dialogue finishes, my external monitor switches from displaying the frame that the playhead is parked on to my default desktop image (like what the DL extreme displays when the finder is active). Then when I hit ‘okay’ after the second conform, the sequence plays on my computer monitor, but the output of the DL extreme remains the default image, thus no output to my DVD recorder.

In between the first round of successful ‘print to video’ attempts and the second round of unsuccessful attempts, I did digitize some SD miniDV footage, so I switched easy setups. I’m sure that I have set everything in Final Cut back to the way it was and I’ve looked at the Black Magic system preference and don’t see anything unusual there.

Any ideas on a setting I’m overlooking?

I’m using FCP 5 on a dual 2.0 G5 running Tiger with decklink extreme.

    thanks in advance,

Not that anyone will be reading this, but the next day when I tried to print to video, the output worked just fine. I guess I’ll add this to the growing list of FCP inconsistencies. I really miss working on an Avid.

    Love the Decklink card though.
