Dissolves Won’t Render
First, hi y’all. I’ve been an Avid Media Composer editor for 16 years now, but I’m just getting started with Premiere Pro for the first time now. I’ll probably have a few “translation” questions soon (Avid method >> Premiere method) but my first question is about rendering output.
I have a simple test sequence, just a dozen shots with simple cross dissolve effects between shots. When I play with the space bar it plays fine. But when I render to an output file (or render work area using the enter key too) the dissolves always get horribly messed up with pixelated boxes scattered around the frame. I’ve tried many different output methods, including both ‘export to movie’ and ‘export to Adobe Media encoder’ and several different output file formats too, yet nothing seems to change the fact that the dissolves render “freaked out” with odd artifact squares all over.

Any ideas on why my sequence would render cross dissolves with artifact squares all over even though it will scrub and play fine through the same dissolves?

Have you updated to the latest version?

You mean like version CS4? No, but I’m sure CS3 should render out dissolves properly.

Not CS4. CS 3.2.
