dissolve transitions in PP CS3
Im having some trouble with my dissolve transitions in PP CS3. When applying a center at cut cross or additive dissolve to a clip there is additional footage that comes in just as the fade approaches the next clip and then it does the same thing when the fade starts after the hard cut. this additional footage is not there without the transition and I cant seem to locate where it even comes from.
I know its kinda hard to visualize but something is definately wrong here…Its not my rig either…. Im running a QX9650 on a Maximus Extreme Mobo with DDR 3 2GB 1800Mhz O.C. RAM and have the system liquid cooled. my PSU is also an 800 Watter so there is no issues with the system that Im aware of.

Do you have footage below the 2 clips being dissolved ?
If so, it will mix in during the transition. That’s because in the middle of the dissolve, both clips have less than 100% opacity, same as if you manually keyframed opacity in both clips.
What you need to do is either put a black video clip below the dissolve transition (New > Black video), or cut the footage below.
Otherwise, try purging the render files.
