    Hey All,

Sorry if this is on the wrong topic, but was hoping someone could help me out with this.

I’m currently looking to build an edit suite that has two 16:9 computer monitors and one vertical monitor to display 1:1 content. Right now, I have my monitor connected to my AJA IO 4k Plus. I get the image and my sequence settings are correct (1080×1080) but my image is sideways and I have no way to flip it on the monitor or the AJA. I also have an Ultrastudio 4k extreme in-house but I don’t think that’s going to give me what I want either.

Are there any recommendations out there to accomplish this? Here’s what I currently have. If there’s something else I should be investing in or replacing a product, would love to know!

Hey not sure if you ever figured this out but hopefully I can help.

We have an edit suite here that has the same issue. The Black Magic ultra studio 4k sends our signal to a Flanders monitor and a big client OLED. 1080×1080 isn’t a supported resolution so what I normally do is build a sequence at the appropriate resolution and just matte the timeline.

So in your case just make a sequence 1920×1080 and matte parts of the width to get it to be square for client viewing.

Personally I wouldn’t flip the monitor for viewing I would go the route I outlined.

If you’re exporting via premiere you can crop it through media encoder. If that’s a headache you could just nest it into a 1080×1080 sequence when you’re ready to export.

    Hope it helps.
