hey everyone, i’m on Media Composer 22.10 and i was having an issue after attempting to apply a blur filter to a video clip.

Once I add the blur effect to the video clip, i’m not able to edit the parameters of the blur in the effect editor. I’ve attached a screenshot to illustrate, note how the words Opacity, Horizontal, and Vertical get cut off on the left. Am I missing a step that enables me to edit these parameters, or is this a bug in 22.10?

Any info would be much appreciated, thank you!

Have you drawn a shape in the effect? That Blur effect doesn’t simply apply to the whole frame; it does far more than that. Note the toolbar on the right side. Within the effect, you draw (select) the portion of the frame that you want blurred, using the Circle or Rectangle tool on the right. Then the Opacity, Hor & Ver will fill with numbers for you to adjust. You can have multiple areas with different blur amounts in this one effect.
If you want the whole frame blurred, simply draw a Rectangle shape over the whole frame.
    Enjoy.
