Disc check corrupts project files?
Hi,
I am using Windows 7 and Sony Vegas Pro 12
Recently I started making a project in Sony Vegas, when i restarted my computer a disc consistency check came up. I thought it was nothing so I let it check but when I came back to my project it had been corrupted.
I got my project back from an auto-save but now the disc check comes up every time I start my computer and I have to skip it to stop it from corrupting the project file again.Is there anything I can do?

Obviously that disk should not be used again. If it is NOT your system drive (where the OS is installed), you can download any number of data recovery tools to scan that drive, ‘pluck’ off what you need and place them on the new drive. Hopefully the bad sector is not exactly where your project file is.

Is there anything I can do if it is my system drive?

Try backing it up before you replace it. Also, some drives come with software which copies the current system drive before the new drive gets installed. This was the case when I recently upgraded the SSD that is my system drive.
