  Disable Auto Scene Detect in FCP 5?

  I can capture DV without scene detection in FCP 5.
  However when capturing in HDV FCP forces scene detection so that every new edit is listed as a new shot in the browser.

  I am not a fan of scene detection.

  Is there any way to disable this “feature?”

  If not, why not.
  And, if not, is there any workaround?
