Up until recently I had been using Sony Vegas 7 on my Windows Vista computer. It had been working perfectly fine. Then, a few days ago when I tried to open it to work on a project, it came up with the error message “Sony Vegas has stopped working” – I thought it was just the version I had playing up, so I got Vegas Pro 9 and installed that, and the same error is coming up.

I’ve looked at other threads about the same issue and tried the solutions listed there, but still no luck. I’ve downloaded and run all the DirectX plugins from the Sony website, and still nothing.

I have no idea what to do or how to fix this error, so I was hoping someone on here would know the solution. Any help is appreciated.

you may need to reinstall the DirectX drivers. Have you recently installed a codec pack or any other multimedia application?
