  • DIG_VDM_OVERRUN when capturing 12 channel audio to Unity

    Hey folks. I have been running some tests because a client wants to capture 1080i 59.94 at 1:1 mxf with 12 to 16 channels of audio (depending on the job).
    I have a 60 sec spot on an SR tape with 12 channels of audio. When I try to capture to unity with 12 channels enabled, I get an Video Overrun. When I drop it down to only 8 channels it captures nice an smooth, even in 10bit.
    Are the additional 4 channels just enough to put me over the edge?

    Console:
    Capturing master clip :: test 1:1 10b 12ch
    Discontinuous TC base tolerance = 6
    CoincidenceTime: 9291.352864Exception caught in APlayer::Play – Exception: DIG_VDM_OVERRUN
    Start time was 0.025873 seconds after the frame edge
    Exception:
    @ Tue Jan 12 12:06:53 2010
    Exception: DIG_VDM_OVERRUN
    Caught Exception in DoDigitize: DIG_VDM_OVERRUN
    Video overrun detected

    System(s)
    Avid Symphony 3.5.1, Nitris DX, HP xw8600 turnkey CPU, 4Gb fiber network.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    EDIT: A test with 10 channels works properly.

    Talked to Avid: They only support 8 channels, even on local storage (we have a video raid st).
    Bummer. Looks like its multiple passes for me.
    Anyone have a better solution?
