This is kind of a complex question but I will try to be brief and give as much detail as possible.
I have a project to edit that was shot in 16:9 on Beta SP. I use PPro personally but do not have a beta deck to do the digitizing. So I went to a local edit house in town and digitzed my tapes through Final Cut onto an external hard drive.
I had it set up to catpure the footage in DV25 and it seemed to do the job.
BUT when I get home and try to open the files, they are showing up as av1, av2 and so forth and PPro or any other PC program (media player, etc) does not recognize them.
My brother has a Powerbook that I am going to pick up today. He seems to think I need to open the project in Final Cut and export them from the timeline in QuickTime to be able to use them.
    2 questions:
    1) If I put the media in the timeline and then export it, won’t the clip now have the timecode of the sequence rather than the original media? This would be a bad since this is a multi-cam shoot and the original timecode is vital.
    2) Is there a way to export the files without taking this step and then using them in another NLE?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
