  Digitizing and audio levels

  Am running all my peripherals through a mackie 1604. I keep a close watch on the levels going in but when I play them back ouy of FCP they are either too hot, or to low after I re-digi and compensate for hot level.

  what is the best way to monitor audio going in so that I don’t have the audio mix from hell at the end of my sesssion?
