  • Digitizing 4 Channels of Audio with FCP 5???

I’m gonna post this in the FCP forum as well.

If we upgrade to FCP5, will we be able to bring in 4 Channels of audio simultaneously from a DBeta deck with SDI? If so, can we capture it as DV video with all 4 channels so we can edit it on another offline system? I’m just not sure of the workflow, since we’ve never been able to handle all 4 channels at once.

We have the Kona 2 card with the KBox and the IO for analog conversion.

Yes you can…there is a pulldown menu in Log & Capture that allows you to choose how many channels you want to capture and there is a little icon next to the audio meter to toggle between stereo and mono.
