    Hey all,

We recently had a job that required the use of SDI – our method of acquisition was to take the SDI out of a deck into our FCP suite (5.04).

The thing that caught me by surprise was that it actually spooled and not only that, but it spooled slowly – approx 4secs to go through one minute of footage (as a guide Sony SR deck does approx 1sec per minute of footage).

Are we doing something wrong? or is it just like this?

i never tried using HDSDI in FCP, but i did try using the RS422/HDSDI method in media100, and it works beautifully. are you using RS422? are you able to change your preroll time in FCP? i set mine to 1 second in M100. make sure youre not using firewire control
