    Hello All,

I was looking into more sound effects and was wondering what people think of Digital Juice Sound FX Library vs Sony’s Sound Effects Series?

If they are close in quality, the Digital Juice looks to be the better deal. Also, I don’t know why Sony doesn’t advertise the quality of their clips anymore. I thought they were 24 bit 192Khz whereas Digital Juice is 24 bit 96Khz(they actually have this listed).

Will there be a big difference between the two qualities? Anybody have experience with either library? I would appreciate any feedback you may provide.

I bought Vol. 2 of Digital Juice a few months ago and am quite pleased with it. If you can afford it, buy Vol. 1 as well as I found that, while there are a LOT of FX in Vol. 2, there were still a lot missing that I would’ve liked to have.
They still have the package deal on allowing you to get Vol. 1 for $199 (reg. $349) if you buy Vol. 2 at the same time.

I still plan to eventually buy the Sony library because it has a lot of sounds that DJ doesn’t.

I have both of DJs sound effects libraries and I use them constantly. I think they were my best investment. I like the fact that they have a lot of music on them. I have not used the human voices but that does not mean that I won’t need them some day. I have looked at the Sony effects many times but I really don’t know much about them other than the samples. The sample CD they sent me for free was very good quality. I still might buy them some day.

I bought Sony sound effects, used them a lot but thought there should be more. Sure enough, they came out with the second edition. If you want all of them make sure you are buying them all.

    Drew –

I have the first volume of Digital Juice’s sound effects and find it to be very useful. Sound quality appears to be fine to me but I’m not an audio person. I have never heard of Sony’s entry into this area so I can’t say anything about it.

Lt us know what you decide to purchase. Have a great day.

I’m glad you enjoy the Digital Juice SFX library. I am the male voice for many of the production voice tracks in their library.
The latest DJ set has many usable phrases in both male and female versions that everyone should find very easy to work with.
As a Vegas user I’m proud to say I hope it makes your work a tad bit easier and much less expensive.
    Cheers

    Hello All,

Just wanted to update you that I ordered Digital Juice’s Sound FX Library v1 and v2. I would have probably ordered both versions down the line so might as well get the promo pricing. It just seemd DJ was a better deal. We’ll see how it turns out. All I know is the few videos I’ve done in the past all seemed to be missing some element and I hope to ‘fill’ that aspect with sound.

    Thanks for the feedback.
