I have a problem with my set up that i haven’t managed to figure out.

    I’m using FCP5.1 on a Quad G5 with 4gb ram, 3.5TB raid, Kona 3 video card, Snell & Willcox sync/burst, Sony DVW-M2000P.( I’m working 25fps pal)

I am connected up through SDI and am finding that the Digibeta is recording 1 frame early.

    I set my timeline to start 09 58 00 00 for bars/tone/clock, with the ads starting every 2 mins on 10 00 00 00 / 10 02 00 00 etc.

the in point in edit to tape is set to be identical (09580000).

When i jog back through the Digi – every single clip starts 1 frame early. I cannot find any info about what needs to be changed and on which device.

The Kona shows the RP188 (sdi) timecode as being 1 frame ahead of the timecode the digibeta is showing. I have tried offsetting this 1 frame either way and it makes no difference.
I have tried setting the ref in on the kona to either ref in or video in – no difference.

I have looked through the DVW manual but not found anything obvious.

Anyone have any clues as this is driving me nuts!!

    thanks
    adam

Sounds like your Deck Control offsets need to be adjusted. that’s what those offsets are for.

    thanks Walter,
spot on advice…I knew i had seen that dialog box once before but could not remember where or what it was called. It seems my settings had a rogue +1 frame in the playout offsets. Now it don’t, and it works correctly.
