    Hi,

What are some/all factors that could contribute to two recordings of the same thing being out of sync and one recording actually being longer than the other?

I had three recordings: 1) A Sony Handicam recording a lecturer (including video and audio), 2) A screen capture program recording his screen on a laptop, and 3) A sound recording program to record his voice with a mic.

(I would like to use a lavaliere in the future, but right now I don’t have one and can’t get one.)

The Sony was at 60 fps, 48KHz, 5.1
The screen capture was at 18 fps
The audio recording was at 44.1KHz, mono

The Sony footage and the separate audio recording get out of sync progressively–starting in sync at 0 minutes, after 17 minutes they are about 3-5 seconds apart.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Audio recording should have been done at 48Khz…not 44.1k. You can try converting to 48k and see if that helps, but that rate is not used for sync recording.
