Different type of fast Retime
I have over an hour of a theatre set being dismantled taken with a fixed camcorder. In past shows I’ve simply speeded the whole thing up to fit the rolling credits and selected music but I was wondering if there is an effect (or technique) that instead of removing every so many frames (speeding up) that would instead leave, say, a couple of seconds of footage and then delete a whole lot of frames before the next couple of seconds. Perhaps between each of the collections of kept frames there might also be the possibility of adding a short cross dissolve transition…?
Looking forward to any guidance here and thanks in advance.
