Ultimate S Pro QuadCAM and VASST infinitiCAM were written long before Sony had any multicam capabilities. The major difference is that QuadCAM/infinitiCAM maintains your original tracks while building the master track and Sony’s multicam combines the original tracks into a single track which is a little less flexible but in Vegas Pro 11.0 they have added the ability to split the tracks out again so it’s kind of a wash. Also QuadCAM uses markers while Sony’s multicam edits by making live splits.

That’s because it’s not obvious 🙁 There is a text link buried in the infinitiCAM page. Here it is:
https://vasst.com/Portals/0/software/infinitycam/infinitiCAM_quick_demo.wmv
It will give you a good idea of what QuadCAM can do since it works the same as infinitiCAM, just with less max tracks.

Personally I prefer Quadcam as I like the event level control, plus it is REALLY easy to tweak cuts. I discovered I had to mute all the lower video tracks after generating the master video track or they would bleed through during transitions, but otherwise it is a great plug-in which I use daily.
I highly recommend it.
My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

June 13, 2012 at 12:21 pmThanks Nigel,
I’ll definitely give it a whirl. I have purchased Ultimate S Pro but haven’t used it much. Luckily, John gave me a link to a quadcam tut.
I know Ultimate can do A LOT, but I haven’t’ found much documentation on how to use it. I could spend much time “playing” with it to learn it but I never seem to have that luxury.
