Did Windows Service Pack 2 cause problems for you?
I asked this in another thread that was about something else, so it may have been lost in the mix.
I can’t capture on my 300 gig drive now and the problems occurred after I installed SP2. I can capture to my 100 gig drive, but I get “Can’t Find Timecode During Capture” errors after about 10-20 seconds when I capture to E.
Any idea what would fix this?
I tried uninstalling things that looked to be associated with SP2 in my control panel, but that didn’t fix the problem.
I would really like to be able to capture to the bigger drive. Please help. Thanks!
(I’ve had this problem since about March, btw, but haven’t needed to use the big drive as much as I need it now)
Also, I’m using Premiere Pro 1.
I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing it this week. I’ve also ran chkdsk and done a defrag.Thanks!

Yes, it did. The best way to ensure that this problem doesn’t happen is to reinstall Windows XP and then install SP2 without installing any other software.

(I hate re-installing XP).

SP2 sometimes can leave a bad file in the temp directory it uses to expand the files, I did a clean install of XP Pro SP1 then SP2, then loaded the Production Studio, I couldn’t capture without sound problems, same happened in Scenalyzer, reformating the Raid that SP2 used to cache the temp files cleared the problem.

I reformatted my system drive and reinstalled XP last night. My 300 gig drive was showing only 137 gig capacity, and some googling revealed that it was an issue with not having Service Pack 1 installed yet. So I got it installed and the gig showed up as 300 gigs.
I didn’t install SP2 for fear of the same thing happening again with my capturing.
I got Premiere reinstalled today and captured a 50 minute clip with no problems. 🙂
