Did anybody see any real time Chroma Key filters used in FCP6 ?
Posted by Dan Riley on April 16, 2007 at 1:56 amI’ll ask Apple tomorrow at the show, but I’m sitting here at the Rio reading all this stuff
and I’m just very curious RIGHT NOW 🙂
This is really something that would speed up a lot of people’s work flow.Dan

April 16, 2007 at 3:31 amI want to know as well. I bought DV matte blast and it is pretty good, but I would rather have a nice keyer in FCP. I saw the new adobe premier has a decent one. If I could key in FCP, that would save me a lot of headache in roundtripping.
When you play with the software, see how well you can pull a key on a “not so good” clip and see how it stands up.
We are foaming at the mouth with anticipation!

I’ll poke around at Apple first to see if anything points to real time previews.
I use Boris Continuum for my chroma keys at the moment. I like the look but the render times are quite long… ok, extremely long. I’ll go by Boris and see what they have
up their sleeve as well, as far as FCP and them making either real time preview
or greatly speeding up rendering of their chroma key filter combos.
I use three of their filters together to make great looking keys.
I’d tell you what they were but I don’t have Boris loaded into FCP on my
Macbook Pro here in my hotel room.Dan
