I’m using Encore 5 on a 2008 Mac Pro. Suddenly, without warning, an entire set of project files is destroyed. I have both a standard and a Blu-ray DVD finished on the same topic, sharing a few assets. Suddenly no versions of either project will load, going back weeks. They start loading, then the loading stops and the tiny but devastating little sign pops up: “end of file.” The loading of the file stops. It’s over.

Since that began happening I have rebuilt the entire standard def project in DVD Studio Pro, but the Blu-ray project, which is fairly complex and time-consuming to create, is simply gone. How can this happen? Is this program actually that fragile that some tiny glitch will take down the whole thing and wreck many days of work?

    Any solutions?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I would create a new, simple DVD project to see if Encore is having some basic problem. A reinstall may be the issue.

I don’t know your OS from the info, but see this:
