Detach audio from a multicam clip?
What would be the most elegant way to detach the audio from a multicam clip. Apparently the option is greyed out and unavailable when using multicam clips, unlike normal clips. So, in cases where I need to just grab the piece of audio out from within the multicam clip and use other video over top of it, how would I go about doing that?
There doesn’t seem to be an easy or simple way to just simply match back to the in and outs and get the audio back in.
Any ideas?

You cannot detach audio from a multicam clip nor can you connect just the audio (using shift-3). The only solution I’ve found is connect the clip (with video and audio), then drag it down below the primary storyline. That way the video from the main storyline will obscure the clip’s video, but you will hear audio.
You can still match back to the multicam clip with shift-f.

Sometimes I just take the section I want and convert it to a compound clip, which I can then detach the audio from.
