    Hey all,

I am having an issue that has NEVER occured before. I am creating a Pilot for a local television show. I was rendering as an MPG2 and about one minute into the render I received a memory error that stopped the process. This is only a 22 minute show with 10 tracks and lots of .MOV and .AVI clips (some of which were created in After Effects and Combustion prior to being imported to Vegas as one of the previous files… but that shouldn’t matter as I have done this many, many times before).

I am using Vegas 5.0b, my computer is a dual Xeon 3.0ghz, 2 gigs RAM, and 500MB storage. I previously rendered this when I had about 17 minutes of the show to make certain ALL of the color correcting, broadcast color adjustments and brightness and contrast adjustmenst were correct and everything went swimmingly. I have a meeting with a local FOX affiliate in two days and I wanted to make certain everything looks great prior to the meeting. Can someone, anyone please help as this problem is new to me.

BTW, I have been using Vegas for a little over 1.5 years and I have rendered projects that were over 1.5 hours in length with lots of effects and plug-ins. Regardless, Vegas should be able to handle this. Please help me Obi-Cow… you’re my only hope.

if you have many still photo’s in the project you could try setting RAM preview to zero and/or clear ram before you start the render ..

IMO install V5d so you have the newest version just in case there was a mpeg render bug/problem in version V5B ? if there was a bug/problem then we could go on for days with suggestions and the fix would be a simple loading in V5d

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using a large amount of PNGs that I created in After Effects for my lower thirds (Yes, I know I can create lowers in V5 but it is easier in AE).

Are you saying that I need to go to TOOLS —> PREFERENCES —-> VIDEO —>RAM and setting that to 0%? Sorry, I am just trying to clarify this so that I can finally get this show rendered, previewed and cleaned up. Thanks again.

YES ..set ram to zero … to clear the RAM after you set to zero then close all instances of Vegas .. then open Vegas …
