OK, now I am stumped, because on my old computer, which I still have and now use as my regular workhorse computer, when I select the Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro (*.ac3) drop-down, there are two choices: Stereo DVD and AC-w Dynamic Range Compression. I get that option in both SVP11 and SVP10 on the old computer.

On my new computer, that template is missing! It is the one that can fix the levels problem.

Now I am ripping my hair out trying to remember if I did anything special to make that template appear.

    grr….

Slowly this is coming back to me.

That template is a custom one I created after tweaking the default template. I think the name is a typo – I meant to name it “AC-w\o Dynamic Range Compression.” The reference to “See help file for details” was also from me, I meant the Sony Vegas help file, which offers info on Dynamic Range Compression.

Still trying to remember why setting them to “None” helped the levels in DVDA. Will try to test more tonight.
